File Submission Specifications

Desired final mock-up format: Acrobat 5 (PDF 1.4).
Open final mock-up formats: 4.11-7.3 QuarkXPress, InDesign CS-CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS-CS5, Free Hand 8-11, Corel Draw X3 (V13).

If, during the preparation for printing, additional activities and/or corrections have to be performed on the files that have been sent, the cost of mock-up design will be included in the invoice upon an advanced notice to the customer.

File Transmission: repro@repro.lv (up to 10MB), hl.repro.lv, ftp.repro.lv.

File Submission: DVD, CD, flash memory, all other media that have an USB or Fire Wire port.

PDF Requirements:

1. PDF file must be in Press Quality, PDF version 1.4 (compatible with Acrobat 5). We would like you to use our joboption that can be found both on our Hotline and on our ftp servers;
2. PDF file must be Composite and it may contain vector or raster objects only in CMYK and/or PMS (Pantone Matching System) SPOT colours;
3. PDF file must have crop marks for trimming, folding, punching and perforation;
4. The size of the trim of the work must be centred both horizontally and vertically in relation to the PDF document size and it has to contain 3 mm over-measures on all sides;
5. Projects consisting of several pages must be in one PDF document with consecutive page order. If any of the pages have a different size (stickers, inserts, cover), it must be sent in a separate file.

Open File Requirements For Final Mock-Ups:

1. All fonts must be converted to curves, outlines must be created. For files containing texts that cannot be converted to curves, all the fonts have to be attached in a separate zipped folder;
2. All the announced objects/images (TIFF or EPS) must be attached;
3. All the folding, punching and perforation lines must be marked with crop marks;
4. Document size corresponds to the size of the trimmed format; over-measures (3 mm) have to be pulled out of it.

Additional File Preparation Requirements for Final Mock-Ups and Mock-Ups That Have To Be Designed:

1. Final mock-up file may contain Vector or Raster objects only in CMYK and/or PMS SPOT colours;
2. If the background or images reach the edges of the page in final mock-ups, over-measures (3 mm) should be imposed;
3. The chisel of the final mock-ups should be included in the file and it should be defined as a SPOT colour (the name of the colour should be ‘chisel’) and in overprint;
4. UV varnish for the final mock-ups must be deployed in a separate layer or in a separate file of the same size that has a precise location;
5. By default, 100 % black colour is eliminated in overprint, if it is not necessary, please let us know in advance;
6. Overprints for other PMS SPOT colours have to be constructed manually, if necessary;
7. Images must be in TIFF or EPS formats and files should not be compressed or in DCS format;
8. Images must be in CMYK (300 dpi), Grayscale (300 dpi) or Bitmap (1200 dpi) colour encoding;
9. Images should not be increased or decreased by more than 15 %;
10. No transparent objects (Drop Shadow, Transparency) should be left in the files. They have to be converted in Raster;
11. Line thickness may not be less than 0.07 mm or 0.2 pt.
12. The final mock-up of the documents (including all the announced files) should not contain any unnecessary details;
13. For final mock-ups that are printed by us we also make the layouts, whereas for projects for which we only make the film, we create layouts only upon an advanced agreement;
14. We are working with Apple Macintosh computers that is why projects that are made on PCs are only accepted in CorelDraw X3 (V13);
15. We take no responsibility for the incorrect operation or misuse of the used software.
